Attention GMail: Please stop scammers

by AJ on January 4, 2008

I’m having a field day with these scammers on my Gmail account. I wonder why GMails’ mighty phising and spam algorithm doesn’t catch these emails.

Dear Greg.,

  • Google is great in searching the web. If a user search for the words “ALPHA FINANCIAL CONSULT” you will see that people are reporting the same fraud (see here). And yo, Mr. Greg., it should be Alpha Financial Consulting. Get it right!
  • £6,000,000.00 GBP (Six Million British Pounds) – OK, you’ve got to be kidding me here. Who in the right mind will give away this much? Apparently someone already deceased. Next time email with someone still alive.
  • Hamilton Greg., nice name should it be Greg Hamilton? (note: with period after Greg. , technically it’s pronounced as Greg Period)
  • High court? Yeah dude, you must really be high.
  • Immediatley. There’s a spell checker in almost every single free webmail out there, use it!

And before I forget, send me the same letter to this mail or contact me and explain the whole thing here:

National White Collar Crime Center, Communications Department, Richmond, VA, (800) 221-4424 x355 or the Federal Bureau of Investigation, National Press Office, FBIHQ, Washington, D.C., (202) 324-3000

Don’t forget, call me. ;)

Thanks!
