It turned out to be the most intense and pleasurable experience of my life, and would love to relive it. I don't believe this was due to anasthesia, but rather that not enough was used. The "stimulation" through the nerves produced a pain so intense and focused at one single point, that all awareness of the rest of the body disappeared. Such a technique, of becoming totally focused upon a point of pain, is one of the awareness techniques in oriental Tantra and Zen meditation. Following my wisdom tooth extraction, I can certainly understand why. FYI, it was an upper wisdom tooth, and I think that makes a difference. When I had the second upper removed years later, I did not experience the euphoria because I did not feel the level of pain- I was too well aneasthetised!
