I’m a ruby developer. I agree that it is for programmers who already have experience on another language. Why? Although ruby is very expressive and readable, there are these weird idioms that you will not find in any languages ( such as x ||= y ). I think it is better to start programming using PHP since it is almost similar with the other mainstream languages.
One more thing. I’m surprised that Python got a perfect score on Ease of Learning. I have no experience on it, and I thought that it is hard. But with this info in my mind, I think I will try it any time this year.
