			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The iPad has presented many uses in the educational world and has made us more productive in the business world. Both children and adults find the touch screen easy to use and navigate. Children use the iPad to learn to read and to learn the fundamentals of math. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today, I transferred a domain away from Godaddy. Not because they&#8217;re not good, but because I wanted to consolidate my domains in one location.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s how I did it:</p>
<p>1) Unlock your domain at GoDaddy</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-20122" title="1-1" src="http://allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/1-1-300x243.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="243" /></p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-20123" title="2" src="http://allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/2-300x126.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="126" /></p>
<p>2) Go to your preferred domain registrar, initiate the transfer. Make sure your domain name is transferrable (see #1)</p>
<p>3) After you have paid for the transfer, your preferred domain registrar will ask you to enter an Authorization Code (sometimes called as EPP or transfer secret info/code), on GoDaddy, you&#8217;ll find it here. Add support@godaddy.com to your address book and/or whitelist. The email will come from it.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-20124" title="2-1" src="http://allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/2-1-300x203.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="203" /></p>
<p>4) Once you get the authorization code, enter it on your preferred registrar. The transfer will now continue.</p>
<p>5) GoDaddy will ask you to authorize the transfer. Login to your account and go to &#8220;Domains&#8221; &gt;&gt; &#8220;Pending Transfers&#8221; &gt;&gt; select the domain</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-20125" title="Domain Manager - Home" src="http://allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Domain-Manager-Home-300x132.png" alt="" width="300" height="132" /></p>
<p>6) On the pending transfers list, click the domain you are transferring</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-20129" title="2-2" src="http://allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/2-2-300x53.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="53" /></p>
<p>7) You will see a screen like the one below. Click the &#8220;Accept/Decline&#8221; button</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-20131" title="3" src="http://allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/3-300x156.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="156" /></p>
<p>7) A overlay window will popup and just select &#8220;Accept&#8221; and click &#8220;OK&#8221;. And that should be it.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-20132" title="4" src="http://allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/4-300x120.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="120" /></p>
<p>You should receive 2 emails from GoDaddy confirming the transfer.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-20133" title="AJBATAC.COM - ajbatac@gmail.com - Gmail" src="http://allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/AJBATAC.COM-ajbatac@gmail.com-Gmail-300x123.png" alt="" width="300" height="123" /></p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-20134" title="Your recent domain name transfer - ajbatac@gmail.com - Gmail" src="http://allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Your-recent-domain-name-transfer-ajbatac@gmail.com-Gmail1-300x90.png" alt="" width="300" height="90" /></p>
<p>That&#8217;s it. I made this post because I found that domain transfers are somehow one of the most challenging tasks in owning a domain. And I do hope that this post outlines how to do it away from GoDaddy.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Here&#8217;s a common question I get all the time from colleagues and friends: <strong>&#8220;How do I change my password in PayPal?&#8221;</strong>. At first I thought they&#8217;re just not looking hard. Until I realized, they had a point. It&#8217;s actually not hard, it&#8217;s just a bit confusing. Here&#8217;s how:</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16180" title="My Account - PayPal-2" src="http://www.allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/My-Account-PayPal-2.jpg" alt="" width="482" height="137" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>As soon as you login, click the &#8220;Profile&#8221; link.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-16179" title="My Account - PayPal-1" src="http://www.allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/My-Account-PayPal-1.jpg" alt="" width="186" height="158" /></p>
<p>As soon as your mouse hover the word &#8220;Profile&#8221;, it will pop-out a menu for adding/editing other items. Ignore that menu and just click on the &#8220;Profile&#8221; link.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s it! I guess the menu throws people off.</p>
<p>OR use this quick link to <a title="Change Password in PayPal" href="https://www.paypal.com/ca/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_profile-password-start" target="_blank">change your password in PayPal</a>. Hope it helps.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I’ve promised my family and friends that I would create a Blogger counterpart of the plugin I did last night for WordPress, the <a href="http://www.allanjosephbatac.com/blog/2010/04/add-the-new-facebook-like-button-widget-plugin-on-your-wordpress-blog.html">Facebook “Like” Button Widget Plugin</a>.</p>
<p>Well, I don’t want to keep you from waiting. Here’s how you do it:</p>
<p>1) Login to Blogger (I preferred <a href="http://draft.blogger.com">Blogger Draft</a> in this example)</p>
<p><a href="http://www.allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/1.png"><img style="display: inline; border: 0px;" title="1" src="http://www.allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/1_thumb.png" border="0" alt="1" width="452" height="218" /></a></p>
<p>2) Click “Layout” on the blog you want to add the Widget</p>
<p><a href="http://www.allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/2.png"><img style="display: inline; border: 0px;" title="2" src="http://www.allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/2_thumb.png" border="0" alt="2" width="452" height="178" /></a></p>
<p>3) Click “Edit HTML”</p>
<p><a href="http://www.allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/3.png"><img style="display: inline; border: 0px;" title="3" src="http://www.allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/3_thumb.png" border="0" alt="3" width="452" height="400" /></a></p>
<p>4) Tick the “Expand Widget Templates” checkbox.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/4.png"><img style="display: inline; border: 0px;" title="4" src="http://www.allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/4_thumb.png" border="0" alt="4" width="452" height="246" /></a></p>
<p>5) Search for the following code (you can use CTRL+F on your browser)<br />
<strong>&lt;div class=&#8217;post-outer&#8217;&gt;</strong></p>
<p>Once you found it, on the next line you should find this code <strong>&lt;b:include data=&#8217;post&#8217; name=&#8217;post&#8217;/&gt;</strong>. If you found that, it means you are on the right spot.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/5.png"><img style="display: inline; border: 0px;" title="5" src="http://www.allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/5_thumb.png" border="0" alt="5" width="452" height="278" /></a></p>
<p>Copy the code below and paste it right after that <strong>&lt;b:include data=&#8217;post&#8217; name=&#8217;post&#8217;/&gt; </strong>code (highlighted yellow above).</p>
<p>&lt;script&gt;<br />
fb_like = &amp;quot;<a href="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=">http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=</a>&lt;b:if cond=&#8217;data:blog.url&#8217;&gt;&lt;data:post.url/&gt;&lt;/b:if&gt;&amp;quot;;<br />
document.write(&amp;quot;&lt;iframe scrolling=&#8217;no&#8217; frameborder=&#8217;0&#8242; allowTransparency=&#8217;true&#8217; style=&#8217;border:none; margin:10px 0 0 0; overflow:hidden; width:450px; height:auto;&#8217; allowtransparency=&#8217;true&#8217; src=&#8217;&amp;quot;+ fb_like +&amp;quot;&#8217;/&gt;&amp;quot;);<br />
&lt;/script&gt;</p>
<p><em><strong>UPDATE: The above code doesn&#8217;t seem to work because copying it from here adds some funky characters in the markup. Grab it <a href="http://snipplr.com/view/32953/facebook-like-button-on-blogger/">here</a> instead:<br />
</strong></em><a href="http://snipplr.com/view/32953/facebook-like-button-on-blogger/">http://snipplr.com/view/32953/facebook-like-button-on-blogger/</a></p>
<p>Like the highlighted code in the screenshot.</p>
<p>6) Click “Save Template”</p>
<p><a href="http://www.allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/6.png"><img style="display: inline; border: 0px;" title="6" src="http://www.allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/6_thumb.png" border="0" alt="6" width="452" height="201" /></a></p>
<p>7) You’re done! Refresh your main blogger blog now and you should be able to see your new Facebook “Like” Button Widget</p>
<p><a href="http://www.allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/7.png"><img style="display: inline; border: 0px;" title="7" src="http://www.allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/7_thumb.png" border="0" alt="7" width="452" height="263" /></a></p>
<p>Got it working? Post your URL in the comments below. Cool huh?</p>
<img src="http://allanjosephbatac.com/blog/?ak_action=api_record_view&id=1799&type=feed" alt="" /><p><a href="http://allanjosephbatac.com/blog/2010/04/add-the-new-facebook-like-button-widget-on-your-blogger-blogs.html" rel="bookmark">Add the new Facebook &ldquo;Like&rdquo; Button Widget on your Blogger Blogs</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://allanjosephbatac.com/blog">ajb{log}</a> on April 22, 2010. <a href="http://twitter.com/home/?status=Add the new Facebook &ldquo;Like&rdquo; Button Widget on your Blogger Blogs: http://allanjosephbatac.com/blog/?p=1799">Tweet This</a></p>

<p>Yes you are reading that right, Facebook is bigger than Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Turkey combined in terms of population. Facebook has a staggering count of 150 million users according to <a href="http://blog.facebook.com/blog.php?post=46881667130">Mark Zuckerberg</a> (Founder, Facebook).</p>
<p>Country population breakdown:</p>
<p><em>Turkey &#8211; 71,892,808<br />Canada &#8211; 33,515,000<br />Australia &#8211; 21,468,700<br />New Zealand &#8211; 4,280,000<br />&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<br />Total 131,246,508*</em> </p>
<p>That, my friend, is really impressive! It makes you wonder how they keep their systems running smoothly, how they scale up rapidly.<br />
<blockquote>
<p><em>Facebook has more than 10,000 servers and leverages mostly open-source software across a distributed architecture, with thousands of MySQL instances. &#8220;It&#8217;s almost a new challenge every day,&#8221;</p>
<p>Jonathan Heiliger (Vice President of Technical Operations, Facebook)<br /></em><em><a href="http://news.cnet.com/8301-13953_3-9975343-80.html">CNET interview</a></em></p>
</blockquote>
<p>That&#8217;s not the only thing, Facebook has more than <a href="http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=30695603919&amp;id=9445547199&amp;index=4">10 billion photos</a>! Some additional stats:</p>
<ul>
<li>2-3 Terabytes of photos are being uploaded to the site daily</li>
<li>Over one petabyte of photo storage</li>
<li>Serving over 15 billion photo images per day</li>
<li>Photo traffic peaks at over 300,000 images served per second</li>
</ul>
<p>Truth is, impressive is an understatement.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I&#8217;m an avid subscriber of <a href="http://nettuts.com/">NETTUTS</a>. A popular tech blog that covers a wide range of topics about web development such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, CMS’s, PHP and Ruby on Rails. I was curious how many of their pages are actually indexed at Google and I tried to learn more. </p>
<p>Let&#8217;s take a look how many pages at NETTUTS are indexed. Note that this will vary from one location to another, as well as ISP used and nearest datacenter used by Google (I&#8217;m currently testing this in North America and the count is going to be variable and approximate).</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s hit &#8220;<a href="http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fnettuts.com&amp;ie=utf-8&amp;oe=utf-8&amp;aq=t&amp;rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&amp;client=firefox-a">site:nettuts.com</a>&#8221; at Google. They have approximately <strong>588</strong> indexed pages. Now let&#8217;s see how many backlinks they have. Let&#8217;s hit &#8220;<a href="http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&amp;client=firefox-a&amp;rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&amp;hs=PFO&amp;q=link%3Anettuts.com&amp;btnG=Search">link:nettuts.com</a>&#8220;. They have approximately 1,400 links going back to them.</p>
<p>The numbers above are not really that much. However, what matters here is when you look at their RSS feed subscriber count, they have <a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~fc/nettuts?bg=eeeeee&amp;fg=548f86&amp;anim=0">14,400</a>.</p>
<p><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~fc/nettuts?bg=eeeeee&amp;fg=548f86&amp;anim=0"/>&nbsp;</p>
<p>So, what&#8217;s the point? Sites like NETTUTS still proves that content is king. It doesn&#8217;t matter 100% how many pages of your site are indexed at Google, what&#8217;s really important is that you deliver quality content to your visitors.</p>
<p>The rest follows.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I just tried some great chocolates from a company called <a href="http://www.coppeneurchocolate.com/home">Coppeneur</a>. They are based in Germany but have North American distribution. What I really liked about them, aside from the brilliant and fresh taste, is that the packaging and presentation of the chocolates makes them stand out among others. They are really classy. </p>
<p><a href="http://www.coppeneurchocolate.com/home"><img title="PB140016" style="border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: inline; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px" height="358" alt="PB140016" src="http://www.allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/pb140016.jpg" width="470" border="0" /></a> </p>
<p>And it looks like I’m not the only one who is noticing how good they are. Here is a <a href="http://www.creativeguise.com/?p=96">detailed report on tasting Coppeneur chocolates</a> from another blogger.</p>
<p>Some more pictures below:</p>
<p><a href="http://www.coppeneurchocolate.com/product;cat,26;item,37;Classic-Collection-Hot-Chili-with-Black-Pepper"><img title="PB140021" style="border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: inline; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px" height="358" alt="PB140021" src="http://www.allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/pb140021.jpg" width="470" border="0" /></a> </p>
<p>I so love the <a href="http://www.coppeneurchocolate.com/product;cat,26;item,37;Classic-Collection-Hot-Chili-with-Black-Pepper">Hot Chili and Black Pepper</a> one!</p>
<p><img title="PB140024" style="border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: inline; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px" height="358" alt="PB140024" src="http://www.allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/pb140024.jpg" width="470" border="0" /> </p>
<p>The above ones are from <a href="http://www.coppeneurchocolate.com/product;cat,29;item,84;Selection-Coppeneur-Red-Fruit">Madagascar chocolates</a> and <a href="http://www.coppeneurchocolate.com/product;cat,29;item,82;Selection-Coppeneur-Fruit-and-Milk">Ecuador chocolates</a>!</p>
<p>You have to try these out. Best gift for this Christmas season.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>ABS-CBN, in a <a href="http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/business/11/17/08/abs-cbn-acquires-minority-stake-multiply">statement</a> said that it will acquire 2.5 million shares (5 percent stake) at <a href="http://multiply.com">Multiply</a>, a Florida-based social networking site. Multiply is the second largest social networking site in the Philippines after Friendster.com. Multiply.com maybe catching up slowly with Friendster.com in terms of unique visitors (see Compete estimates below).</p>
<p><img style="border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px" height="261" alt="friendster.com multiply.com_uv" src="http://www.allanjosephbatac.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/friendstercommultiplycom-uv.png" width="640" border="0"/> </p>
<p>Friendster on the other hand, the most popular social networking site in the Philippines may be losing its steam after more than 2 days of <a href="http://webgoofs.blogspot.com/2008/11/friendster-down-friendstercom.html">downtime</a> due to a data center <a href="http://blog.friendster.com/2008/11/friendster-service-update2/">power outage</a> in Santa Clara, California. You just can&#8217;t seem to wonder how did Friendster allowed itself to be offline? Was it because it had a single point of failure? Having one data center housing more than 85 million users? Could a data mirror in Asia have helped since most of their active users are there?</p>
<p>In any event, Multiply just got a strong partner in the Philippines &#8211; media giant ABS-CBN. But will Multiply be able to grow their user-base in the Philippines with the help of ABS-CBN and overtake pinoy-favorite Friendster? The answer to this question might be sooner than later.</p>
<p>What are your thoughts?</p>
