Here’s an announcement on their site:

Yahoo! acquires Xoopit.
Xoopit is joining Yahoo! to make the world’s best email even better.

Yahoo! will be integrating both our photo sharing applications and our content indexing and discovery technology into Yahoo! Mail and other services over the coming months.

Xoopit has emerged as a leader in mail applications, indexing and content discovery. Yahoo! has recognized that Xoopit’s technology elevates photos to the forefront of people’s everyday email experiences. Mail is the original online photo sharing experience, and combining these two products results in an evolved inbox experience. Yahoo! Mail users can expect to see their mail become even more efficient, social and fun!

The Xoopit team would like to thank our users for all the support and guidance in developing a service that people love. We would also like to thank our angels and venture investors, Charles Moldow from Foundation Capital and Theresia Gouw Ranzetta from Accel Partners for wisdom and commitment along the way!

The official announcement from Yahoo! can be found here.

Dear Xoopit team, I hope you’ll never share our Gmail account information to Yahoo! Thanks and looking forward to the Yahoo! Mail integration.

Yahoo! has been using the purple logo ever since on some of their corporate websites and campus but never on any of it’s homepage.

Personally, I like it better than the red one. It’s consistent to their offline branding.

There’s a new security tool that Surf Jack that allows one to hijack HTTP connections to steal cookies – even ones on HTTPS sites. Works on both Wifi (monitor mode) and Ethernet.

Here’s a proof of concept to steal session cookies on HTTP and HTTPS sites that do not set the Cookie secure flag.

It’s really a scary to see that even Gmail was vulnerable before to these types of attack. So, how about Yahoo Mail? And what more if you use Hotmail Live? Makes you really think if there is such thing as 100% security nowadays.

What does this mean to you as an employer?
Aside from our great visibility at search engines (Google, Yahoo! and Live), your job ads will have further exposure thru our job aggregators. This exponentially increases the visibility of your job openings to job seekers who are visiting social networks and other services.

How do I get my job there?
SimplyHired, Indeed and WowJobs only list jobs that have specific locations such as city and state/province. So next time you post a job, make sure you don’t forget to choose a city and state/province. This is however, not applicable for country-wide job postings.
